Elmar Schenkel
Chair of English Literature at the University of Leipzig, Professor Schenkel wrote his Ph.D. dissertation on J.C. Powys and did a post-doctoral dissertation on the sense of place in modern poetry. He has taught English and American Literature at the universities of Freiburg, Tübingen and Konstanz and served as a visiting professor at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. The author of several articles on Owen Barfield and of a published interview with him, he is the editor (together with Stefan Welz) of the Leipzig Explorations in Literature and Culture book series.
