Jake Sherman graduated
summa cum laude with a BA in religious studies (esp. mystical studies) from
Pepperdine University in 1997. At Regent College, Vancouver, BC, he wrote
an M.A. thesis entitled An
Ever Diverse Pair: Owen Barfield, Teilhard de Chardin, and the Evolution of
Consciousness, which examines their respective evolutionary
systems and critiques Teilhard from a Barfieldian standpoint and then attempts
to bring the best of both systems together (inasmuch as possible) for a fuller
synthesis. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at the California
Institute of Integral Studies.
